Should I hold off on any major purchases cause of the recession?

CNN says you should hold off making any major purchaces cause of the recession.
That makes no sence to me?
Wouldn’t people spending money on major purchaces help the economy?
This year I am planning on buying a new motorcycle and new furniture.

Okay, The issue will be, can you get a better deal later.. if the recession continues for a extended period then the companies selling their products will have to lower the price to remove them from the inventory. Within reason, you should continue with your purchase with the understanding that is is possible… I wouldn’t just start buying stuff unless you need it… your purchases will not affect the overall economy or the recession progress. I just purchased a kitchen cabinets just the other day… I will be purchasing all of the other appliances also… I will just shop for the best product with the best price when I’m ready. If everyone stopped buying, the recession will take everyone down even longer. Shop with wisdom, not with your good wishes.
